HOLIDAY ART & MUSIC EXHIBITION

 

The Mustang Arts Council (MAC) invites you to participate in the 

2018 Holiday Art & Music Exhibition December 3, 2018.

 

Theme: Winter Wonderland

 

The Mustang Arts Council has partnered with Mustang Parks & Rec and Mustang Public Library to host this exhibition in its mission to provide opportunities for artists and promote arts education in the Mustang community. 

 

Artwork will be on display Monday, December 3rd from 6-8 p.m. during the Tree Lighting events at the Mustang Public Library event room. It has been estimated that 300 people attend the tree lighting event each year.

Submitting Artwork: 

  • Registration: Please CLICK HERE TO PRE-REGISTER AS AN ARTIST by Friday, November 30, 2018.

  • Students K-12 may submit one item for display in the art show. Please have artwork ready for display 
    (for example: matted, framed, or mounted to construction paper). 

  • Adult artists over age 18 may submit up to three items for display. Artwork must be ready for display. 

  • There are no size or media requirements for this show.

  • If your work has any special requirements such as electrical needs for video, please contact us by 
    November 30, 2018, so we can make the proper arrangements.

  • Drop off artwork at the town center on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. Work will be locked up in a safe location and put out for display the next day. 

  • You may choose to bring your own easel or display boards for use in the show or we will use our grid wall and easels. 

  • Pick up artwork at 8 p.m. on December 3 with ID. (If you cannot pick up your work at that time, we will lock it up at the community center, and you can retrieve through the front desk with proof of ID.)

Ornaments

Artists may also choose to donate a hand-made ornament to the Mustang Arts Council to sell as a fundraising effort. Ornament sales will be made in the lobby near the library to draw traffic toward the art and music exhibition.

Fees

There is no fee to participate in this show. However, adult artists must be members of the Mustang Arts Council ($15 annual membership dues.) CLICK HERE TO BECOME A MEMBER.

Eligibility

The student category includes students Kindergarten-12th grade. Artists in the adult category must be age 18+. Entries must not violate copyright laws (for example, popular cartoon or anime characters) and must be family friendly (no nudity, violence, or mature content). All works must be ready to exhibit. Artist’s Name, Phone #, and Title must be on the back of each piece. 

 

Sales

Silent Auction sheets will be available for any artist who wishes to sell his/her work. Artist may set the minimum bid and consider making a percentage donation to the Mustang Arts Council for any work sold. 

 

Promotion

This event will be promoted with all Tree Lighting events. Fliers go home with all elementary students in the district. The Mustang Arts Council will additionally advertise in fliers at the town center, on their website, and on social media. Signs will be posted during the Tree Lighting events directing people to the show.

 

Disclosure

Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Artists participating in this show agree to allow reproduction privileges of their art for education, fund raising, or publicity purposes only. 

 

Volunteers

We will need to enlist the help of volunteers to put the show together. We will need people to move tables, displays and artwork, and we will need people to keep an eye on the work during the festivities. Please contact us at mustangartscouncil@gmail.com to sign up for a time to volunteer.
